StandUp to Domestic Violence
In 2006, there were 860 incidents of domestic violence reported in Blue Springs. In Blue Springs, victims of domestic violence and their abusers have been as young as 14 and as old as 86.
Victims of domestic violence in Blue Springs are mothers, daughters, sisters, relatives, friends, neighbors and co-workers. They live in every part of the city and represent all races and socio-economic levels. Their children see the violence and the cruelty and are often victims of the same abuse…and they often repeat the cycle in their own relationships.
StandUp to Domestic Violence, a committee of StandUp Blue Springs, was formed in 2006. Members represent local community agencies and law enforcement.
