StandUp to Domestic Violence

Domestic violence definitely exists in Blue Springs. There is no evidence that the incidence of domestic violence is beyond what would be considered typical for a community the size of Blue Springs. But “typical” numbers, any caring person would agree, are tragic. Any number is tragic. Even one incidence of domestic violence is tragic.

The StandUp to Domestic Violence steering committee has formed a coalition of community members who share a deep concern about this issue. The coalition is now meeting monthly to develop a plan to raise awareness about domestic violence in Blue Springs. The group is also evaluating programs to help youth in the community who may be witnessing domestic violence at home. One step at a time, the members of Stand Up to Domestic Violence are working toward a goal of ending domestic violence in Blue Springs.
