StandUp Safe

The StandUp Safe committee is concerned about illegal drug use and underage drinking in Blue Springs, and believes that parents often need help and support in raising children to make good decisions. The committee is working to develop a “youth yellow pages” directory, to make it easier for teens to get any kind of help they need. StandUp Safe also has a group of caring volunteers who have been trained as workshop facilitators and will meet with groups of parents, educators and others who want to discuss parenting issues.

StandUp Safe has also introduced WeTip to Blue Springs—a simple, anonymous way to report any illegal activity, including underage drinking, providing alcohol to a minor, or selling or possessing drugs. Any crime may be reported, and callers are guaranteed anonymity. Those calling in with a tip are given a unique code to use should future communication with WeTip be necessary. The WeTip number is 1-800-78-CRIME.
