Blue Springs WellLink
Blue Springs WellLink was formed in 2002 by a group of citizens with a desire to make Blue Springs a healthier and safer place to live and work. During the summer of 2007, Blue Springs WellLink merged with StandUp Blue Springs, and became a committee of StandUp Blue Springs.
WellLink’s primary program is Dental for Kids program, launched in 2003. This program provides free dental care to children from low-income homes in Blue Springs who otherwise would not visit the dentist, thanks to the generosity of many dentists in Blue Springs and other Eastern Jackson County communities. Hundreds of children have received thousands of dollars in free dental care through the Dental for Kids program.
WellLink also compiles and distributes a wellness directory that provides resources in many areas including social services, education, child care, health care, teen issues, faith communities, recreation, and much more.
The annual Princess Party, a fundraiser for Dental for Kids, is the first Saturday in October, at Valley View High School. This wonderful event for little girls, aes 2-12, and their adult royal companions started in 2004 and is fast becoming a Blue Springs tradition.
